Android 14 is Released by Google: New Update Functions

The new operating system from Google was launched this Wednesday with the Pixel8, Pixel8 Pro mobile phones and will be available for an update soon.

Android 14 was launched by Google this Wednesday. The new system was announced at the Made By Google event, where the new Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel Watch 2 SmartWatch were also presented. The system update offers several features, including new ways to use passwords, AI-generated roles, larger text options and camera enhancements with Ultra HDR.

Android 14 will be launched on Pixel devices from Wednesday and will be available later this year for other compatible devices from brands such as Samsung Galaxy, iQOO, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi. You can find more details about the update below.

In Android 14, third-party apps can only use your Android phone and fingerprint as a password to log in. Google also stated that the new system will send a monthly notification notifying users when an app changes data sharing practices.

When it comes to the lock screen, the system allows you to set custom shortcuts, such as a QR reader or the Google Home app, to access the most used controls on the device quickly and with one touch. Starting with the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro phones, Android 14 also allows the creation of generative AI wallpapers. The user can choose from predefined suggestions or create an image from scratch.

The Android update also includes a new health app: Health Connect, which will replace Google Fit. The platform allows you to share data from your phone with health apps and vice versa. For people with visual difficulties, the new system allows text scaling up to 200%, which should improve accessibility.

Users also have more control over the audio output from Bluetooth-connected devices. It is possible to leave only music from one speaker and, for example, to prevent the playback of calls. The six-digit PIN is also new. After entering it correctly, the user no longer needs to press the ENTER key, because his device will be unlocked automatically.
