During Janelle Brown’s conversation with Christine Brown about her future with Kody Brown, they both acknowledge that 54-year-old Kody has changed a lot over the years. After Janelle, 54, reveals that she no longer wants to get married, Christine, 51, asks Janelle if she would like to have a full marriage with Kody again if he moves on.
Yes, but I don’t think it’s realistic, says Janelle in the October 1 episode of Sister Wives. Christine tells Janelle that Kody is completely different than he used to be. He is different, Janelle agrees.
Christine continues, he is not the same person I could not be in love with that he is for now. Janelle adds, maybe this has changed because suddenly it just doesn’t work for me anymore. Christine admits that I’m not attracted to someone like that.
Danielle notes that Cody used to be so dynamic and courageous. Christine notes that Kody didn’t let anyone control him. He was his own person. But these qualities have disappeared in the eyes of Christine and Janelle, which makes Janelle not want a future with him. He’s really defending the patriarchy, and I’m not that person, says Janelle.
Kody becomes defensive about the accusation that he has changed. “I don’t think I’m the only one who’s changed here,” he says in a confessional. We have all changed.
However, it wasn’t just Christine and Janelle who noticed a change in Kody. I don’t know how you do it, because that’s not who you married, that’s not who I married, – says Mary Brown to Robin Brown in this episode. Robyn, 44, agrees with Meri, 52. No, it wasn’t. No, he didn’t, she says.
Meri admits that it was very sad to see Kody go downhill from the man he used to be. Meri also points out that she doesn’t think Kody is that upset about his family’s demise. Because if he were, he would work on it more, she says. The rifts in Kody’s life continue to deepen as the sister wives continue to mind their own business. New episodes of Sister Wives will air on TLC on Sundays at 10 am.
