Before the premiere of The Exorcist: believers, we spoke with David Gordon and Jason Blum , director and producer of this saga, which caused great controversy in its origins and even its ban in some countries.
After several setbacks on the set of the original film by Wiliam Friedkin in the 70s, when strange sounds, fires and deaths were reported, David Gordon Green, the director of this universal bet, told us how they protected themselves during the recording of the project:
We learn the lesson from the previous films and protect ourselves with blessings and fiery ways. A priest came in and blessed the set after we finished there, and we had spiritual advisors because we really did everything to put on armor and protect ourselves from this negative energy.
Similarly, Jason Blum told us about one of his paranormal experiences:
My scariest memory was that I was in my early 20s and I was in a basement apartment in New York City and I saw a character at the end of my bed and it wasn’t like that… “I don’t know what it was, it was a ghost or a ghost, but it wasn’t a real person and I remember it like it was yesterday,” he said.
For his part, Gordon told about an experience he had with his colleague Craig Zobel:
My scariest memory was that some people said it was a ghost because I heard some people talking about how they had seen a ghost. I was with Craig Zobel in Beaufort and this organ came to us. “I don’t really know how to explain it, but it was as scary an experience as you can imagine,” he said.
About how they deal with these terrible energies in their daily life, contrary to what everyone would think, they confessed:
I find it interesting, one of the reasons I love horror movies is that people who are horror fans and people who make horror movies (hopefully the same ones) have a lot of fun. Therefore, the scenario of a horror movie is much more fun than the scenario of a comedy. “You could ask David who did both,” said the producer of films like The Invisible Man.
