The 17th edition of the Autumn Sonatas will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Le Mans (Sarthe). This is a 9 km walk along the Sarthe and Huisne rivers with musical parades, during which classical musical works are performed.
This edition of the sonatas is based on a trio of musicians from Le Mans who will perform works of Russian music.
This program entitled “Around Shostakovich’s Trio No. 2” starts at 14: 00 in the church of Saint-Lazare with the Étude No. 5 by Alexandre Scriabin and excerpts from the seasons by Pyotr Tchaikovsky . After arriving at the church of Saint-Georges-du-Plain, we will hear a duet by Reinhold Glière at 15: 30.
Then, at 16: 45, a duo by Zoltan Kodaly and the cadenza of the 1st concert by Dmitri Shostakovich will be performed at the Saint-Bertrand Church. Return to the church of Saint-Lazare at 17: 45 to finish with the impressive trio No. 2 in E minor by Shostakovich. The performers are Caroline Goupil (piano), Olivier Mingam (violin) and David Harlé (cello).
