Indian Club Onam Fest: Voice of Alleppey wins the first prize in the processional competition

Manama: Alleppey’s voice won the competition as part of the Onam celebrations at the Indian club, which has a history of more than a hundred years. In addition to the best procession, Voice of Alleppey was also awarded as the best carriage and the best Maveli. Hamad City Voice of the chairman of Alleppey Area, Anoop Sasikumar, was voted the best Maveli.

Under the direction of the secretary of the Alleppey Voice women’s department, Rashmi Anup, Thiruvathira for Women, Harvest Song for Children and film dance were performed by Suman Safarullah and his team. Tanat Vanchipat from Arang Alleppey, a group of performers from Voice of Alleppey and a violin fusion led by Nitin Ravindran graced the procession.

The cart represented the rope industry of Alappuzha, the festivals Mizhav Vadyakkar, Mohiniyattam and Velakali. More than 100 performers, artists and children lined up for the procession, starting with the Alappuzha Lighthouse and the various papers that are the epitome of Alappuzha. Sibin Salim, President of Alleppey Voice, General Secretary Dhanesh Murali, Treasurer Girish Chunakkara and processional leader Jagadish Sivan led the way. The leaders informed that winning the competitions is the result of everyone’s collective work, and victories are the energy to do more.
