The Miami Heat star continues his media day trend by appearing with a different hairstyle.
Jimmy Butler took a fresh look at Media Day, and the NBA world immediately took notice.
The Miami Heat forward arrived on the team’s first official working day this season with piercings (eyes, lips and nose), a new hairstyle and black-painted nails.
This has become something of a trend for Butler, who last year went through a series of media events with dreadlocks in contrast to his usual appearance.
“I’m very excited right now. This is my emo status, and I like it. It’s me,” Butler said. “That’s how I’ve been feeling lately.”

The teammates were apparently caught off guard. Heat forward Bam Adebayo, who hadn’t seen his teammate before meeting with reporters, thought someone had photoshopped something when a reporter showed him photos of how Butler looked that day.

“It’s unreal…. This (expletive) is ridiculous,” Adebayo said.
It’s unclear if Butler will keep that look when Miami opens practice on Tuesday. The team will hold their camp at Florida Atlantic University in nearby Boca Raton.
