Marcus Smart’s Wedding Turned into a Celtics Reunion with Jayson Tatum, Brad Stevens and More

Smart celebrated his wedding anniversary on Saturday together with his wife Maisa Hallum.

Marcus Smart will be on the court with the Memphis Grizzlies this season, having joined from Boston at the beginning of the off-season.

But the longtime Celtics point guard managed to reunite with some of his Boston teammates and coaches on Saturday as he celebrated his wedding anniversary along with his wife, Maisa Hallum.

“Wow, I never thought I’d see this day,” Smart posted on Instagram over the weekend. “From boy to man, starting this new chapter with you is a blessing and much more! Thank you for fighting with me. When times get tough, we never hesitate. For Mr. and Mrs. Smart… I love you guys.

Many Celtics were present to celebrate with Smart, including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, head coach Joe Mazzulla and president of basketball operations Brad Stevens were also in attendance.

Tatum shared a few candid photos on her Instagram during the festivities, including one with Mazzulla and Stevens – all three with their arms crossed.

Smart announced on Christmas Day last year that he and Hallum were engaged. The announcement came hours after Smart had given eight assists in the Celtics’ win over the Bucks.

In July, Smart praised his teammates in Boston and the Celtics fan base in an interview with Grind City’s Chris Vernon

“I was crying. I cried because of the special relationship I have with the guys,” Smart said of her reaction to the trial. “I grew up with Jayson [Tatum] and Jaylen [Brown] during my career, all these other guys, even Al [Horford]. Like I said, a lot of these guys, Al, Jaylen, Jayson and these guys, when my mom died, they were there. They had a hard time with me, so it was hard. Not only that, I’ve been there my whole life, so it was hard.”

Smart added: “The reaction from the fans in the city of Boston was exactly what I expected and what everyone who played in Boston would expect. It’s all love. And you drive around the city a lot, man. Just like Memphis, right? And that’s how it should be. You should travel around your city like this. So it’s all love, so I wasn’t surprised by that.”
