NEET-PG cut will be reduced, NMC made Important announcement-Report

The reduction of NEET PG 2023 is reduced by the National Medical Commission (NMC). This is stated in many media reports. According to the data, the NMC has completed all the preparations for the reduction of the cut. However, speaking to the media about lowering the limit, NMC member Dr. Gupta said that lowering the limit will not be a compromise for medical education, as students will arrive after passing the MBBS course.

However, he also said that the reduction of the NEET PG 2023 cut will neither lower the standard of medical education nor make compromises in the service. Students are admitted to postgraduate courses after completing the rigorous MBBS course.

In fact, in recent weeks, medical associations such as the Federation of Resident Physicians Association (FORDA) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) have called for changes to the NEET-PG limit. These associations demand that the cut be reduced by 30 percent.

On 13 September 2023, in a letter to the Union’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare, the IMA called on him to reconsider the exclusion criteria for awarding places to doctoral students. According to reports, a total of 3,744 vacancies have become available in 2022 after NEET-PG consulting.

IMA President Dr. Sharad Kumar said that reducing the reduction will not only reduce the number of vacancies, but also provide the desired faculty for the medical education system. Let us tell you that the Medical Advisory Committee is currently conducting NEET-PG consultation. However, due to the demand to reduce the cut, the announcement of the result of the distribution of seats of the 3rd round is postponed. The third round of distribution results would be announced on September 16, 2023. However, the result has not yet been announced.
