Smoke and rain affect landings and takeoffs at Manaus Airport

The airport works with instruments when commanders use the sensors and receivers on board the aircraft and the existing air traffic control support equipment at the airport.

Smoke and rain affected the landings and takeoffs at the Eduardo Gomes International Airport of Manaus in the late morning of this Wednesday (20). The airport is operational with instruments from 11:21 am.

Instrument operation occurs when commanders use the sensors and receivers on board the aircraft and the existing air traffic control support equipment at the airport.

Manaus Airport attributes the changes to the weather conditions. “If in doubt, passengers should contact the above-mentioned airlines to update their flights,” he said in a note.
