Featherweight managed to debut as the greats at the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2023, making a gesture towards another great of the urban genre like Bad Bunny.
This young man, only 24 years old, is originally from Mexico and his name is Hassan Emilio Kabende Laija. His original music has led him to position himself internationally in the most popular lists and now to win the “Debut Artist of the Year” award.
“Thank you to all the fans who have supported me to make this possible. I would like to thank my musicians, my entire management team,” the interpreter began.
And he thanked the fans for their support:
“To my entire team and everyone who has worked with me this year, thank you for making this possible.”
Finally, he concluded with a gesture to the Mexican nation:
“Again with Mexico,” he said.
Despite his short career, Featherweight 2022 has collaborated with personalities such as Bizarrap, Becky G, Nicki Nicole, Marshmello, Ovy on drums and with Natanael Cano, which earned him international recognition.
He took part in the poster ceremony alongside stars such as TINI, Chiquis, El Alfa, Eladio Carrion, Justin Quiles, Los extraterrenos Azules, Manuel Turizo, Marshmello, Myke Towers, Caliber 50 and Yandel.
The regional Mexican star came second in 21 awards, including Artist of the Year and Hot Latin American Song of the Year for “Ella Baila Sola.”
