The main feature that attracted Prince William to Princess Catherine was revealed by a Buckingham Palace source. It is said that Kate Middleton’s strong family background attracted the future king to his wife when they first met.
The royal source claims that the Princess of Wales has a “solid and warm family history”, which William lacked due to his personal upbringing in the royal house. His mother, Princess Diana, was also taken from him and Prince Harry when they were young, which means that they grew up without their natural caregiver.
In an interview with Daily Express US, Tom Quinn, author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the royal family, said that the princess grew up in a conventional family environment with two loving parents, and this dynamic brought the couple together.
Quinn said: “Someone who worked for her told me: “You have to remember that William wanted Kate because she has a solid, warm family background that he didn’t have.’”
The source added that Kate had brought a “calm presence” into William’s life after a chaotic upbringing.
Quinn said: “In a way, the fact that the royal family is immutable and has strict rules reflects, on a different scale, the limitations that she had as a child. When she left the university, she went straight to her parents to work. She doesn’t want to attack and do her own thing.”

The royal author said that Kate understands the Queen’s mantra” never complain, never explain” and explained: “Since William adopts his grandmother’s ways and behaviors and Kate is very good at not complaining, the two have stuck to the cause that made Queen Elizabeth II such a remarkable monarch.
“They rarely complain and when they do, it’s always thoughtful.”
By keeping their affairs private, William and Kate have also taken on less “control” than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the royal author suggested. “They are less differentiated than Harry and Meghan,” he said.
