This Is How Chris Hemsworth’s Life Changed After He Discovered He Might Be Suffering From Alzheimer’s

Since the Thor actor learned that he has an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, he has made a huge number of lifestyle changes that are designed to benefit not only his general health, but also his brain.

I’m building more loneliness into my life, Chris said in an interview with Men’s Health, which was published on October 3rd. I’ve always been pretty consistent with my training commitments, but lately I’ve really felt how important it is to take time for myself, without any outside voices or stimuli, and to take time for silence.

And part of this silence involves focusing on mindfulness.

I do a lot of meditation and breathing work, especially during sauna and ice bath routines, the 40-year-old actor explained. For me, my favorite mindfulness work comes from immersing myself in physical activities that allow me to be fully present and force me to get out of my head and into my body, especially when surfing.

Another important part of your routine? Prioritize sleep and exercise.

Trying to stay away from screens for an hour before going to bed and reading most nights definitely helps. Also, focus on not being connected with all thoughts and, if possible, being the observer of the noise, just distance myself from the internal conversation .

Chris first learned about his predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease when he underwent genetic testing for his National Geographic documentary series Limitless . And although, according to Men’s Health, he has the opportunity to edit the information in the series, Chris ultimately decided to keep it.

After all, he wanted the information to inspire viewers to learn or understand more about brain health and see what they can change.

Since realizing his increased risk, Chris has been open about how the knowledge has affected his relationship with his family, including his wife Elsa Pataky and their children India Rose, 11, and twins Sasha and Tristan, 9.

This is especially relevant when it concerns your work graphics. Last year, the Marvel actor expressed his desire to take a break from acting to be with his children, a feeling he repeated in this last interview.

It made me think about my children and how they grow up and how things change so dramatically, and I want to sit down, I want to soak it up, he thought next to men’s health. I no longer want to participate in a speed race. I want to be here and appreciate everything that is in front of me.
